Florida voters are likely to once again decide whether medical marijuana should legal in the state.
The Florida Supreme Court on Thursday unanimously approved the language of a proposed constitutional amendment which will be on the 2016 ballot if it gets enough signatures. Justices ruled it met the requirements of covering only a single subject and not be designed to mislead voters.
United for Care, the group behind the amendment, is still about 100,000 signatures shy of the required 683,149 signatures.. But campaign manager Ben Pollara was confident it would get them, and that voters would approve the amendment in November.
“The unanimous decision by the Florida Supreme Court to approve the new medical marijuana constitutional amendment is a huge victory for hundreds of thousands of sick and suffering Floridians,” he said. [Read more at the Fort Lauderdale Sun Sentinel]
